Qualified Data Management Partner Program
Field to Market aims to scale farmer access to our suite of industry-accepted sustainability indicators embedded in the Fieldprint Platform. To reach this goal, we partner with software and service providers across the agricultural industry to integrate our sustainability indicators into leading third-party tools and software. These partners — our Qualified Data Management Partners (QDMPs) — make it possible for farmers and supply chain partners to access robust sustainability analytics in the platform of their choice.
By combining Field to Market’s sustainability indicators and algorithms with precision agriculture, decision support, and farm management software solutions, farmers can simultaneously evaluate productivity, profitability, and sustainability options as part of their planning process — without leaving the applications they rely on every day.

What Is a QDMP?
A Qualified Data Management Partner is a Field to Market member organization that has been licensed to integrate the Fieldprint API into their own software platform. QDMPs collect farm-level data from growers through their FMS, submit that data to the Fieldprint API, and present the resulting sustainability metrics back to their users. This creates a seamless experience where sustainability analysis lives alongside the agronomic and financial tools growers already depend on.
The QDMP program exists to increase access — for farmers, for supply chain partners, and for the broader agricultural community. Rather than requiring growers to use a single tool, Field to Market envisions a technology landscape where farmers can access robust sustainability analytics in the platform of their choice. QDMPs make that vision a reality by embedding Fieldprint indicators across a diverse ecosystem of precision agriculture, farm management, and decision support platforms.
QDMPs also play a central role in supporting Fieldprint Projects — structured sustainability initiatives where companies work with growers to measure and improve environmental outcomes across supply chains. Through their integrations, QDMPs provide the data infrastructure that makes project-level measurement, reporting, and claims verification possible.
Only current full members of Field to Market are eligible to become QDMPs. To learn more about our current data partners and their capabilities across cropping systems and geographies, visit the Data Partners page on the Field to Market website. A downloadable guide is available there to help you understand each partner’s capabilities.
The Fieldprint Platform
The Fieldprint Platform is the analytic engine behind the Fieldprint Calculator (web application) and the Fieldprint API. It collects field-level management data, runs it through peer-reviewed environmental models, and produces sustainability metrics that can be benchmarked against state and national averages. The platform estimates performance across eight environmental sustainability indicators:
These results — collectively called Fieldprint Results — help growers visualize how management decisions affect environmental outcomes and identify opportunities for improvement. The platform also allows comparison against state and national benchmarks developed using publicly available data. Public documentation of the scientific methodology is available at methods.fieldtomarket.org.
How Integration Works
The Fieldprint API allows QDMPs to embed Field to Market’s sustainability indicators directly into their own platforms. At a high level, the integration flow works as follows: the QDMP’s software collects farm-level data from growers — field boundaries, crop history, tillage operations, fertilizer applications, and other management practices — and submits that data to the Fieldprint API. The API processes the data through peer-reviewed environmental models and returns sustainability metric results, which the QDMP then presents to growers and stakeholders within their platform.
This approach means that farmers and supply chain partners interact with sustainability metrics through the tools they already know and trust. QDMPs are responsible for building and maintaining their own user interfaces for data collection, results display, and reporting. The Fieldprint API handles the science and computation; QDMPs handle the user experience and data quality.
Becoming a QDMP
The path from prospective partner to production integration involves several structured steps. Field to Market’s VP of Science and Technology provides oversight for QDMP integration efforts, and Field to Market’s Ag Technology Provider (ATP) provides technical support throughout the process.
- Kick-Off Discussion An initial meeting to discuss the purpose, goals, and timeline of the integration. This ensures shared understanding of expectations, roles, and responsibilities.
- Data Management License Agreement A fully executed DMLA is required before API access is granted. The agreement covers QDMP responsibilities, data usage, storage, reporting, and restrictions on use.
- Integration Progress Reviews Field to Market conducts periodic reviews covering data mapping, data quality assurance, product vision, system design, and approach to displaying Fieldprint Results and supporting Projects.
- Data Quality Assurance Review A thorough review of data input workflows, API requests and responses, and Fieldprint Analysis outputs to confirm accuracy and completeness.
- Final Walkthrough & Communications Review A demonstration of the completed integration to confirm compliance with trademark usage, display guidelines, and communication requirements.
- Notice to Proceed Field to Market provides final written approval to deploy the integration to production. All integrations require this approval before any production release or public announcement.
